Clark was determined.
Nobody could stop him.
As he stepped on to edge at the top of the 30th floor building, his heart felt a tremendous freedom for the first time in his 9 years of life. He always knew he could fly. Ever since he could walk, he knew from the bottom of his heart that he is meant to achieve greatness. His parents never noticed him, and so did his friends and teachers. They thought he was only a regular kid with dreamy eyes, bad grades and suck at sport. But he knew he was different, his heart knew. And he kept it inside until one day he would prove them all who he really was.
Today was the day.
Clark closed his eyes, took a deep breath and jumped. As wind rushed against his face, he felt no fear. The chorus of R Kelly’s song kept repeating over and over again in his mind. He believed. His heart would never lie. Had never lied.
Then the wind stopped. Slowly, he opened his eyes and was ecstatic to find that he was floating in the air, two hundred feet from the ground. He looked to the clouds, put his fist up front and blasted off.
“Yeeeeaaaaah! Yiiiipeeeeee!!!” Clark flew in an incridible speed, doing some manuevers that only F16 could pull it off and pushing it further. He danced with the clouds, flying low in the cornfield, zig-zaging through the forest trees, and literarily, racing with the jet-planes. Nothing could stop him, the youngest superhero of all time.
But then, he spotted danger. A car with an old couple was about to be hit by a truck. Clark knew that this was his first task. He flew toward the car like a lightning, grabbed it from under and lifted it up into the air. The truck missed it by half an inch. The old couple was flabbergasted and very grateful to him as Clark put the car back on the road. After giving them a “you’re-welcome” smile, he flew away.
He spotted another danger. Wow! Busy day for a first time superhero. It was a bank robbery. The robbers had taken a woman as a hostage. Clark showed up in front of them. The robbers fired their guns at him, but his body was not affected by the bullets. With an incridible speed and high-level martial art, Clark took down the robbers in a mere few seconds and saved the hostage. The woman was so happy and she gave him a kiss. And off he went. Another danger avoided!
Suddenly, from high above, he spotted some people crowding. Something happened in there and he flew down to take a look. A body of a man lying dead on the street, drowning in his own blood. Clark felt sorry for him, but there was nothing he could do. He might be a superhero, but he was not perfect.
The officer nearby asked questions about the dead body to one of the crowd. “Yes, officer. I knew him. His name is Clark K.”
“Clark K??” the officer chuckles. Nobody joined him. The officer stopped, embarrased.
“Umm, does he have any relatives?”
“His parents died in a car accident two years ago. His wife was killed in a bank robbery last week.”
“How about children?”
“No child. If only he had any….”
This made me laugh when you realised whom this was about. Very good twist. Mine is here: http://thanihaveeverdone.blogspot.com/

Thanks, really appreciate it!
Interesting take on the mythos.
That was a fine story with a very unexpected ending. I always like a good twist.
I have to admit to being unsure about this as it was getting going, but by the end I was hooked! That was a very good and unexpected twist.
LOL! You got me there, pal! Good reading, full of surprises!

I enjoy a story with a twist and yours certainly delivered. It tagged the reader along – lulling them into a comfortable spot -before whacking them in the middle of the forehead.
